The shifts of economy are as follows; from an agriculture society, to an industrial one and then to a service economy. At least this how the United States developed and is considered the correct model. But with the recent collapse, there is much wonder as to where the next stage is. That next stage is the development stage and includes job sectors in alternative energy and global media.
The development sector is about research for new ways to make the supply chain more efficient and then the implementation of these methods. New and emerging economies are competing for the limited capacity of resources. Instead of having to go through all stages, they can simply advance to development. However, this is a new emerging technique and has yet to put into motion in any economy efficiently.
There are two types of alternative technology: those for generating power and those for making systems more efficient. Wind power, tidal power, hydrothermal and geothermal power all generate massive amounts of power for structures. But solar panels, pressure pads, LED lighting, water collection, indoor agriculture, reflective lighting and heat efficient architecture all save power.
Alternative energy is not nearly affective enough to be used solely to power very power consuming cities and rural areas. But the utilization of power saving technology will make it extremely affective and possible. The only way to implement such technology is through a massive shift in the way society, corporations and politicians think. This will require a modern socio-economic that pushes for a new way of thinking.
Money has to be channeled correctly from every corporation, government institution and every consumer.
Every dollar put into advertising, oil production or consumer products will only encourage more production of such materials. Power goes where the money goes therefore it's necessary for the consumer to shift their thinking and stop spending on businesses that encourage the old model of economic thinking.
In the modern age, everything is connected and one effect has a domino effect. This is why it's vital to push to set dominos in the correct fashion which encourages correct spending on all levels. Proper government spending should be subsidizing alternative energy implementation on residences and businesses instead of tax breaks. This spending should bring the cost of implantation of such technologies by 80% where it starts to become extremely lucrative to implement such devices to avoid or reduce the cost of future utilities.
In turn the extra money earned by businesses through a lower fixed cost should be spent on Public Relations. By public relations I mean, setting up small offices where ideas can be passed up from the local level. This means even the most common man who has a genuine idea can have it sent to straight up to the boredom after having it juggled up to through various offices. This allows for the second part the economy to gear up; the "research" of alternative technology.
As for consumer spending, it should be aimed at businesses that use alternative technology and public relations offices. This will happen naturally as these businesses will become more progressive and eventually cheaper as the return on investment from alternative technologies will allow these businesses to offer products and services at a lower cost. But this cannot happen on its own without an idea and a movement to spark this knowledge further.
The way to start this movement depends on the environment as much as the way it's implemented. It has to happen in a country that wants change desperately and is willing to do whatever it takes. This will be able to spread in a country that has a strong connection amongst all its citizens, a government that will allow flexibility and a business structure that adapts quickly. The stronger the national unity, the easier it will be use cheap labor to setup installations and direct spending.
The installation of alternative technology is expensive and difficult but the whole process can be broken down. From the production of it, to the delivery, to looking for the correct location and finally installation and setup. It can be broken down far enough to where a single uneducated person can do a very small thing, over and over and over on a professional level. This requires either a large population in poverty or a population willing to work due to national pride.
The spread of this idea will come across through the young, able and informed. This makes the internet an ideal place for an idea such as this to take off like wildfire but the actual implementation will happen due to the old. The older are willing to work and are much more used to it. This means there must be marketing directed offline and a website which links all communities and businesses working on this online. Everyone will contribute their efforts and contributions online for praise and recognition while maintain their identity.
Offline spreading will include posters and billboards put in up cities, flags put up by dedicated members of the movement and marches organized by the youth. Meanwhile, on the country side the proper way to spread the movement is through Public Relations (PR) individuals and sound-trucks that will spread the movement to the farmers and politicians that govern the rural area. But the common way for everything to connect is online. Due to the older generation; the movement has to be nationalistic and moral. Due to the younger generation; the movement has to preach new technology and unity. The common thread is coming together.
It is important to continually build pressure until government attention comes and forces change to happen. However, if marketed well and time is allowed, people will beg for it by then. There will be enough organized marches and enough organized protests that change has to come. But it important to allow the movement to grow and not have any interference from those who stand to lose in the early stages. This is why the marketing must be done right.
The goal is for the nation's people young and old to see the insignia, logo and mission statement enough times to see that it will make a difference in their lives. Then they will take notice and will begin their research behind the doctrine and meaning of the movement. The way it will truly spread is through the dedicated innovators of society to give their approval and put effort into this movement. This is why they are the first group that must be targeted.
This means that criminal-defense lawyers, freshmen politicians, consumer protection agencies and civil rights groups should be targeted to allow the government to slowly bend. The most important target is the young, trendy and internet savvy as they will spread the word to the populace in an informal fashion. Funding should come from progressive parts of the government, alternative energy companies and young philanthropists. Eventually the common man will donate due to pride and the corporation due to good PR.
The second group involves those who have strong national pride in their nation and more likely to get up and do something. These include veterans, lower military officers, the older generations and farmers. This second block must have the movement pushed on them but be allowed to research it on their own in a non-bias manner. This includes handing out pamphlets in public areas and having media attention, particularly print media attention. This group will set the agenda in motion by asking "what's the next thing to do."
The third group is the early majority. The more democratic of the middle-class and immigrants see change as potential to increase wealth. They will begin the solidifying of the movement through a massive public presence. They will organize marches, protests and will bask in media attention. By this stage, it will be seen as a good thing to be part of the movement and the rest of the herd will join.

My goal is to setup a NGO for alternative energy development in India, the country I believe has the most potential for implementing the new "development economic sector."
